Lulu's Befana stocking
Here in Italy 6th January is a public holiday. It's called 'La Befana' and celebrates the Epiphany. The figure of the befana is represented by an old woman (bit of a hag) who flies around on a broom, visiting children during the night and filling their stockings with gifts and sweets if they are good and coal if they are bad.
Children here appear to be more excited about this than Christmas, I can't seem to get my head around it. Thank goodness my italian mother in law takes care of it for me as I'm likely to forget about it!
Anyway she asked me to make Lucy a 'Befana' stocking so this is what I came up with. I was inspired by something I saw for Halloween in an old Marie Claire Idee I have. I can't remember which one but if anyone is interested I can let you know.
