Embroidered Cushion

I went home to Oz recently for nearly 2 months. It was fabulous to be with friends and family and totally inspiring. I love spending time with my mum and sister talking about all things creative and beautiful. As Sas mentioned we went to the Sydney craft show, Mathildas Markets and the Mosman Markets all wonderful and inspiring. Of course I came home with all manner of things, a suitcase full of fabrics, patterns and threads!!!!

I also packed into my suitcase some of my mum's amazing embroidery. I am going to make them up into cushions for her. I'll slowly blog them over time. Here is a cushion she made some time ago. I just love the colours so I had to photograph it.

She is truely an amazing embroiderer and has now moved on to stumpwork. I was gobsmacked to see this piece she has nearly finished. I can't even fathom attempting to do something like that! The pattern is from a book I can't remember who's it is so when I next call mum I'll ask her and put it in here.

    1. The pattern comes from - Embroidered Flora & Fauna: Three-Dimensional Embroidery (Paperback) by Lesley Turpin-Delport & Nikki Delport-Wepener
