I also packed into my suitcase some of my mum's amazing embroidery. I am going to make them up into cushions for her. I'll slowly blog them over time. Here is a cushion she made some time ago. I just love the colours so I had to photograph it.
She is truely an amazing embroiderer and has now moved on to stumpwork. I was gobsmacked to see this piece she has nearly finished. I can't even fathom attempting to do something like that! The pattern is from a book I can't remember who's it is so when I next call mum I'll ask her and put it in here.
Please, did you find the pattern for the stump work ?
ReplyDeleteHi That's my mum's work I don't know whose pattern she used. I'll have to ask her. I've seen this a lot on pinterest maybe you could look up 'stumpwork' and it will appear or do a google search.
DeleteIt is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern comes from - Embroidered Flora & Fauna: Three-Dimensional Embroidery (Paperback) by Lesley Turpin-Delport & Nikki Delport-Wepener
