Finished!

I've finished the top of Lulu's quilt! I've ordered some fabric for the backing from 'sewlovefabrics' on Etsy , can't wait for it to arrive. I still have to decide how to quilt it , most likely it will be by hand but I'm not sure what pattern. I'm going to bind it with the green background white spot fabric blogged previously. I've chosen Sandi Henderson's Farmers Market Medallion in peach for the backing. My apologies for the photos it was difficult to photograph the whole thing. It fun to do even there's a lot of work. I have about 2 weeks until my fabric arrives so I can start my next project!! Not sure what it is because I want to do so many things. More images of the last panels are on flickr

  3. Yes you should! I'm dying to see his, you shouldn't get bored as each block is different. It's a shame if you don't do it because you're the one who inspired me. i've already cut out another one from the Material Obsession book it's the first quilt.

  4. Which one are you doing? I think you like some of the ones that I like. I want to make the quilts on pages 49, 75 and 83 but my absolute favourite one is not in the book but they have it in their shop. I have put my name down to do some classes with them but there is a long waiting list. I hope that I get in soon!

  5. I'm doing the very first one to start off with because I have some fat quarters I wasn't sure what to do with. It's also a really fast quilt takes a day to cut out and piece together, maybe even less. I'm not sure what is the best pattern to quilt it with maybe i'll do each panel differently following the fabric patterns. Anyway I have to order the backing so it'll sit there for 2 weeks like Lulu's. I've ordered a Sandi Henderson for the back of hers. Love all the same as you I'm working my way up to them.

  7. That is such a beautiful quilt! I have to say, although you may heard this before, you're so talented!
I can't sew, quilt, do any needlework or any of the many many talents you have but you really make me want to! I'm 22 so I don't know if I can suddenly learn a new art but some day I'd like to. And if I'm lucky maybe I'll have inheirited some craft genius genes from mother's side of family! =)

    A fan

  8. You can learn, I started being 'creative' at 27! I was not very good to start off with but persevered and am improving and slowly finding my own style. A good way to learn is from books, completing projects from these books. I have every type of book you can imagine painting, sewing, embroidery, felt. I love them. I also collect fabrics, trims and beads, anything that inspires me. i save images which inspire, could be something someones made, colours etc. Sarah my sister 8the other half of the blog) is the same but found her creativeness sooner. Good luck, you can do it and don't give up
