New embroidered pouches

I also finished these pretty pouches along with the poodle tote! I must do some more embroidery it's so relaxing and enjoyeable! I mainly used simple backstitch for these (except on the butterflies wings where I also did some short and long stitch). The embroidery is on antique linen and then I embellished with soem lovely trims.

Poodle tote!!!

Yes you saw it right this bag has a poodle on it! Really I don't know what possessed me? All I can say is the drawing was so cute it inspired me to embroider it. Actually I really like the way it turned out. Such pretty colours and fabrics. Of course the poodle is embroidered on some of my gorgeous Italian linen cotton antique fabric.

Necklaces and party sweets bags

More creations today. As you can see I've been playing around with ideas today. I made these necklaces of course under Lucy's (she's nearly 5) supervision and assistance!

I also made these little party favour bags which are a really cute idea for birthday parties. You could fill them with sweets or even some girlie jewellery or hair clips.

Dolly basinette

I made this dollt bassinette for Lucy. It's very sweet and she loves it. These make for a great present for little girls. If I make some more I think I'll make them an little larger and deeper with a little materass and co-ordinating blanket.

More pretty cushions

I finished off some more cushions the other day. I've been a little lazy about blogging lately! The first cushion is made on a lovely Bellora linen and backed with a co-ordinating aqua blue check. For the second cushion I used my antique Italian linen and combined it with lovely cottons.

Further inspiration arrived today in the form of Christmas fabrics. I've been pondering what to buy for months and finally decided on a bit of each range I liked. The fabrics include Lecien, Alexander Henry, Rouenneries and the Joy of Christmas. Can't wait to get started on these!

Yesterday I tried my hand at felting wool and dying all at the same time! I bought a few dyes several months ago but never had the courage to try them. I am quite happy with the results especially the pinks and purples. I also threw in some of my antique linen, antique trim, new trim, and vintage doileys. I was amazed at the different shades and colours came out of the same batch. I'm not sure about how well I felted the wool fabrics. I read on the internet that if when you cut it it doesn't fray then it is felted, so we shall see.

Felt Initials

Check out these pretty initials. I made them the other day, another thing done which I've been meaning to do for a long time! Lucy now wants me to make her whole name (lucky it's short!), she carried them around with her the whole day yesterday. I cut the letters out, did any applique embroidery first. Then I sewed my two pieces together and filled them. I hand cut and made all the flowers and leaves and then used hot glue to keep them in place. I did sew the first flowers on but found they were held in place better with the glue. The cord is made with plaited strips of felt. More images on flickr

Hide and Seek Market #2

We had our second Hide and Seek market on Sunday. Mum did well and outsold me for the first time which was good for her. We were under a bit of pressure as we did really well two weeks earlier at Mathilda's Markets and almost sold out of stock so between working and looking after kids there was a lot of sewing that had to get done. Mum did heaps of new pretty things. I didn't get as much done. We are now taking a break for a month to get some more stock done. We are intending on starting our Christmas stuff which we will have at markets starting in October. Our next market will be Billycarts on Saturday 25th September so we hope to see you there. There are more photos of some of our products on Flickr.

We would greatly appreciate any donations. Together we can make a difference.
