I just received this gorgeous French cross stitch book. I've been wanting it for about a year now and finally have it! It's really cute and full of lovely cross stitch patterns for Christmas. I bought a copy for myself and a couple for my shop!

Christmas decorations repeat themselves!
Some things from the past must be repeated. I loved making these last year and here they are again available in my shop! They are made with beautiful Italian wool felt and then appliqued with hand dyed felted wool. So cute!

Super sweet hootie owl ornaments
I had great fun the other day creating these sweet Christmas owl ornaments. I'm early this year with Christmas as I've been so busy and fear it will just increase moving towards November and then I won't have time to create anything new. I was supposed to make 3 owls but as I was cutting more ideas kept popping into my head so I just kept on cutting out more! There are a few I have't made, better write them down or I'll forget what they were!!! These sweet owls will be making it into my shop over the next few days!

Early Christmas decorations
Ok so in between orders I have slipped a little Christmas spirit in! I was asked to create patterns for these ornaments which I was happy to do so I got to make a few samples. I've decided to put the patterns in my shop along with the decorations. They are mostly made with felt which is lovely to work with.

In the middle of working on orders I have managed to slip in some new designs! Actually I designed these last Christmas but never made them, silly me! I love the way they turned out and felt has such lovely colours. I have more designs for these so hopefully I'll get them otherwise there's always next year!!!

A Special Order
Here's another order I completed last week. I made another growth chart. My client wanted an apple tree, birds and a house so this is what I came up with. I really enjoy working on special requests as I get new ideas form them. I used linen and cotton fabrics, hand applique and embroidery to make this lovely heirloom.
For the same client I also made the three Christmas stockings below.
Finally she also requested a cushion slip with the Dome of Florence!

Christmas presents

Happy New Year to you all!
I made these gift baskets as part of some of our presents to friends. We filled them with all kinds of yummy goodies incluging sun dried tomatoes made with my mother in laws recipe, nougat, wine, special jams/mustards for cheese and sugar coated almonds.
The red stripe basket in made with antique fabric from Bulgaria. The white baskets are made with antique Italian linen. They can really be used for anything from the bathroom to the kitchen. I especially like the small long ones which could be used on the table to serve grissini, biscuits, chocolates, crackers and so on.

Sewing for Christmas
I am on holidays so spent a little time changing the look of our blog. I hope Rach likes it. It's nice to have a change every now and then!
I made this Santa Stocking for a friend's little boy. She is collecting it tomorrow so I hope that she likes it!!

Mum and I have also been making some Christmas bunting inspired by some that we saw at the shop Material Obsession. We each made five flags and you can really tell who did which one as we have very different styles. The photo below is a sneak peak of my favourite one that I made. I really like the colours. I will blog the whole thing once I have finished making it up.

A few things I've been making!
I made 3 pouches for my friend to give as gifts and a new Christmas decoration which I gave to her as well. She has a very large tree which has many empty spaces!!

I aslo finished off this sewing pouch. I made it with antique linen and trim. Inside I stitched in a pin cushion and a few pockets to carry things around, like a small hoop, trims, scissors, and so on. I sent this to my mum as an extra gift because I know she loves that kind of thing.

Christmas gift bags
Here a few Christmas gift bags I made the other day. I still can't get my head around who I need to give gifts to! Oh well at least I've started to make a few things so it may not be such a rush.
These bags are entirely hand sewn in wool felt. I'm wondering what I'll put in them!!!

I also made these storage baskets from antique hand woven cotton fabric. They are very simple and could make for great gift for Lulu's teachers. I may put chocolates and other goodies in them. They are also great to use on the table with nuts in them, or bread , danish and so on.

Super pre Christmas busy!

November is always such a busy time. I've been sewing like a mad person and I love it! I have some more stocking designs which I never got round to making. Yesterday i mailed off a whole lot of orders (previously blogged) so I allowed myself to make up some of my new designs. I still have more but I won't get them all done for Christmas this year.
