Red yellow and blue

I had an order last week for one of my cushions in red, yellow and acqua blue. I'd never done this colour combination before and just love the way it turned out. I also made a co-ordinating bunny and so just had to make an Easter basket as well!

Quilted Cushions

I felt like making a couple of quilted cushions for my son and myself for our beds. For my cushion I based my colour combination on a piece of grain sack fabric that I found. I used this tutorial from Pink Penguin. They are tiny hour-glass blocks. I did my best to match up my seams although some are a little out. I also tried machine quilting for the second time. I did the same style of quilting on each cushion and did the lines free-hand----- don't look too close and they are not perfectly straight or evenly spaced....... need to keep practicing!!!
Both cushions are filled with an Ikea feather insert. I love these as they are super soft and only $10. Jamie's cushion is log-cabin style and I used this tutorial from Red Pepper Quilts. It was pretty simple to make and you don't have to worry too much about lining up too many seams. Jamie loves his cushion and has been sleeping with it every night.

Sweet bunnies

These bunnies were sent to new homes before Christmas. I love the colours they were supposed to be unisex.

Easter is near

It's nearly Easter again! I can't believe hoe time flies! I've already made a large order of Easter baskets which went to the States and here they are! I've made some more for my shop which I'll blog later.

More pre Christmas creations

Here are some more customer orders made before Christmas!

Befana stockings

Ok I know a few weeks ago I said I'd catch up with blogging and then I didn't do it! Well here I am with some more goodies made before I went to Australia for Christmas!
These little stockings went to a kindergarten in New York as a Befana gift for all the kids in the class. I thought that was such a lovely gesture by her as many kids were effected by the hurricane. I struggled with a theme for the boys as the sweets kept turning out a little girlie! Finally my customer suggested baseballs and I must say they turned out really well.
